Kygo Gives Emotional Tribute To Avicii During Coachella Performance

Kygo kicked off weekend 2 at Coachella 2018 with an emotional tribute to Swedish DJ/Producer Avicii. Tim Bergling, also known to the world as 'Avicii', died on Friday (April 20) at the age of 28, as per a statement from his publicist. 

At the end of Kygo's Coachella set, he made an emotional tribute to fans about his friend and played his favorite Avicii song to end his performance:

"He was the reason why I started making electronic music. So I don't think I would have been on this stage tonight if it wasn't for him. And I know he has inspired millions of other producers out there... so I wanna end my set tonight with my favorite Avicii song. In honor of Avicii I want you guys to dance and sing along and let's celebrate the life a true musical genius. This next song is called Without You"

Earlier in the day, Kygo posted an emotional tribute to Berling on his Facebook page saying: "Can’t believe this is true..my biggest inspiration and the reason why I started making electronic music. Thank you for all the joy you brought to the world with your music. RIP @avicii"

No details surrounding his death have been released as of yet. He leaves the world with hits such as "Levels," "Hey Brother" and "Wake Me Up" featuring Aloe Blacc.
