Man Admits To Burning $1 Million Dollars So His Ex Wouldn't Get It

How many of you would rather burn all the money you have than give it to an ex? Well, a Canadian real estate investor claims he did just that and a judge is not having it.

Bruce McConville claimed that he burned more than $1 million dollars in cash in an attempt to ensure his ex-wife is unable to lay her hands on the money as part of a divorce settlement. The only problem is, the judge doesn't believe him and instead has sentenced him to 30 days in jail.

McConville says he burned $743,000 in September and $296,000 in December during a bonfire he set. However, he doesn't have any video evidence of the bonfires. The judge added a stipulation to his jail sentence as well. Once he is released from jail, he will be fined $2,000 a day until he reveals where the missing money is.
