The one day of the year we pay close attention to ALL the commercials and NBC suddenly went black for 26 seconds.
NBC said no commercial was missed. But at a cost of $5 million for a 30 second ad, NBC basically threw away $4,333,316 of commercial time.
An NBC spokesperson commented, “We had a brief equipment failure that we quickly resolved. No game action or commercial time was missed."
That might be true but 26 seconds is a long time to be showing nothing during one of the most watched events in television history. Thankfully it brought us some funny tweets. ⬇
