Pinch me, I’m Irish
Don’t be surprised if you get pinched for not wearing green on St. Paddy's Day. Funny thing, it's not even an Irish tradition...it’s entirely American and it started in the 18th Century. St. Patrick’s fanatics used to think wearing green made them invisible to leprechauns, who would run around pinching anyone not wearing green. People began pinching those who didn’t wear green as a reminder of those sneaky leprechauns and their ornery shenanigans.
