Ben Affleck Fans Not Cool w/ Body-Shaming Article

However, HE Doesn't Care

Ben Affleck is yet, another subject of body shaming. And his fans aren't having it.

Last week an article titled “The Great Sadness of Ben Affleck” was published in the New Yorker. It was basically an evolution of Ben going from sexy, golden boy to a tatted-up father going though a midlife crisis. The line in the article that his fans were not fond of was, “His gut is pooching outward in a way that, in a more enlightened country like, say, France, would perhaps be considered virile, not unlike the lusty Gérard Depardieu in his prime but, in fitness-fascist America, tends to read as Homer Simpsonesque.”

Affleck’s fans called out author Naomi Fry for body shaming, cruelty, and targeting a person who has publicly and privately struggled with alcoholism. He, however, seemed to not care. His response was, “I’m doing just fine. Thick skin bolstered by garish tattoos.”
