Relationship coach, Trina Leckie has up some helpful tips to make moving in together go more smoothly.
- Have a trial period - It’s easy to get so caught up in the excitement of the idea of living together that you don’t look at the big picture. Since spending a night or two together here and there is a far cry from living together, Leckie suggests doing a trial run of staying together for at least 14 days straight - no breaks - to test it out.
- Talk about storage before you get to your new place - It might seem silly now, btu when space is tight and you’re spending all your time together, you’ll argue over simple things. If your home is small, will you need to rent off-site storage? How will you use the bathroom space so everyone’s happy? Work it out before you move in for a smoother transition.
