🚗 Is Your City a Crash Magnet? See Where Omaha, Lincoln & Des Moines Rank!

How Safe Is Your Drive? Omaha, Lincoln & Des Moines Make the List! 🚦

Accidents happen—but some cities are way more crash-prone than others. Allstate just dropped its 2025 “America’s Best Drivers Report,” and let’s just say… some places need a serious driving refresher course. 😬

The report looks at how often drivers in the 200 biggest U.S. cities get into accidents. The national average? One crash every 10.5 years. But in Boston? Yikes. Drivers there are nearly 3.5 times more likely to get into a fender bender. It’s officially the riskiest city to drive in (again). The Northeast in general? Not winning any safe-driving awards.

On the flip side, Texas is crushing it with four cities in the top 20 safest. Brownsville, TX takes the crown as the safest city to drive in. 👑🚙

10 Safest Driving Cities in the U.S.

  1. Brownsville, Texas
  2. Boise, Idaho
  3. Fort Collins, Colorado
  4. Cary, North Carolina
  5. Laredo, Texas
  6. Olathe, Kansas
  7. Scottsdale, Arizona
  8. Port St. Lucie, Florida
  9. Madison, Wisconsin
  10. Eugene, Oregon

10 Riskiest Driving Cities in the U.S.

  1. Boston, Massachusetts
  2. Washington, D.C.
  3. Baltimore, Maryland
  4. Worcester, Massachusetts
  5. Springfield, Massachusetts
  6. Glendale, California
  7. Los Angeles, California
  8. Oakland, California
  9. Providence, Rhode Island
  10. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Now, let’s talk local:

  • Lincoln, NE is holding it down at #42—not bad at all!
  • Omaha, NE? Not so lucky. It dropped to #96. 😬
  • Des Moines, IA came in at #108. Room for improvement, folks!

Since 2015, several Midwestern cities (including Omaha) have seen a dip in safe driving stats. So if you’ve noticed more close calls or aggressive drivers lately, you’re not imagining it.

Moral of the story? Whether you’re cruising Dodge Street in Omaha, heading to a Huskers game in Lincoln, or navigating downtown Des Moines—keep your eyes on the road and your hands at 10 and 2. 🚗💨
