We Care: Highlighting non-profits in our area!

Who: Westside's Dance Marathon is a student led organization, consisting of 22 ambitious high school students. Our final event is open to anybody in the community willing to give back to Westside Dance Marathon and support this cause!

What: Westside Dance Marathon is a year long organization that raises awareness and donations for Omaha's Children's Hospital. Dance Marathon is a program utilized at both universities and high schools across the nation, but Westside's Dance Marathon was the first Dance Marathon in the state of Nebraska to be brought to the high school level! Additionally, our final event will take place on April 13th from 5-9pm. This is where we reveal the total amount of donations raised, a chance to hear about our Miracle Families health journeys, activities/games, and ultimately an opportunity to bring the entire community together for a noteworthy cause.

Where: Westside High School in the main gym (8701 Pacific St)

When: April 13th, 2024 from 5pm-9pm (check in starts at 4:30pm with the big reveal at 9:05pm)

Why: The whole purpose of Dance Marathon is to raise awareness and donations for our local Children's Hospital. Our advocacy, fundraisers, and events are all centered around the message of supporting pediatric medicine and bringing assurance to patients and their parents. Our motto is "Kids can't wait," urging all our fellow supporters to become involved in this program by attending events, donating, and spreading the word throughout the community. At the end of the year, we have the privilege to designate our donations to a particular unit of the hospital. Last year, we raised over $43,000 for the NICU at Children's! This year, we have an ambitious goal of raising $50,000 for the Hematology and Oncology Care Unit - so we need all the support we can get!
